Question to ponder about.

What do you want to do to make a difference and change this world ?

What I would really like to say is pray and spread religion. But yea, like I know, none of you in here is religious... so yea... But still I'll say what I think. In what we believe in, praying is usually the solution to everything. By spreading Christianity, we are able to change the world, be helping everyone reach eternity given from God. Sorry, it's not too clear but yea.

So in the other aspect, the nonreligious aspect, I feel that what can really change the world is us, the people. Not the government, not the president, not the representatives. We all have a voice, we all are able to know what is right or wrong. We should not be sitting there waiting, waiting for others to make the first move. If all of us waited for others to start, then we will never get a solution. We would never be even close to changing the world. By changing the world, you will have to be strong and work on your own terms.

In order to help change the world, I would like to go to countries that are in poverty or in suffering conditions. To help in any way I can. The first time I had this thought was recently. It was before we had this blog entry though. I went to this very special concert, a choir. African kids form WATOTO. WATOTO is an orphanage for those kids in African that had lost their parents because of AIDS. They came to sing. Such happiness in their lives, such hope you see in them, despite of all they have to do through. I was truly touched by them. That was when I had the thought of going to Africa to help them build houses or anything.

Yes I agree with you Tina, I should start helping from Taiwan. Maybe with the poverty issues, or maybe with the aboriginal people. I just hope that I can do something, anything to change the world and really make it a better place. Let's all work together! :D

You have a really good point but I think you should really elaborate on it. You're right in a sense that the politicians and people who hold power, are not the only ones that can make a difference in the world. WE can make a difference and I like your idea. I too would like to go to another country and help build houses for the needy. I think it would be a great experience and we would learn so much about ourselves. So, like I said, elaborate on your ideas and try to make a connection if possible. I know you have good ideas because I see you on an every day basis, volunteering to share your thoughts in the classroom. Take those wonderful ideas of yours and put them into a well thought out post. I know you said, to be continued, so I will look for your update.

WOW!
I always respect people who does that. It use to be one of my dream until I started designing buildings... And..how are you going to help? I'm not questioning your ability, I'm just wondering in what way are you going to help those countries.

Would you consider go around Taiwan and help out elderly or children who needs help?!
I would love to go around the world and help others too, but I think I should start giving back to Taiwan's society then move on to the world. --> just a little thought from my side. :D

Coco, you need to finish this because I want to read what you have to say. I also like Tina's idea about starting at home. Working in Taiwan to help those that need help and you can start today!

Good post.

We all have desire to change how the world is becoming. But for me, I think we have to start thinking small. If we wait too long for the people in power (who do not seem to want to get started), we are only delaying our actions. If we start the changes within ourselves, no matter how small, we do make a difference, albeit small. Our actions can lead to inspire others and this I believe is more powerful than relying on those who are in power to start doing something to a greater effect.

I hope you get to do all the things you said you wanted to do. My advice would be to try to keep it simple to make it more achievable. Small but easy is sometimes better than great but overwhelming.

Good luck to all of us.

Coco, it's interesting that you began with religion and then ended with what you called the nonreligious part about going to other countries and helping out. I would consider the second part to be extremely religious because doesn't the Bible say that we should go and help others. I don't see your two parts as being separate but unquestionably interconnected.
